The Ford Fairlane was introduced in 1962 in a black body colour with white doors and “POLICE” decals. This was the traditional colour scheme for US police cars. This was not the first model #258 that Dinky used in their manufacturing identification. The original Dinky #258 model was the DeSoto Fireflite in 1960. The Fairlane cast was used in three other issued Dinky models - the #147 street version, the #258 US Police car in 1960 and the #264 Ford Fairlane Canadian RCMP car.
Model #258 was issued between 1962-67.
